Ingredients
125grams golden syrup
50grams butter
1 orange zest (finely grated)
30milliliters orange juice
175grams self raising flour
1teaspoon ground ginger
50grams brown sugar
Instructions
<p>1. Put the syrup, butter, sugar, orange zest and juice in a heavy-based saucepan and heat very gently until melted and evenly blended.</p>
<p>2. Leave the mixture to cool slightly, then sift in flour with ginger. Mix until smooth.</p>
<p>3. Place small spoonfuls of the mixture on two lightly greased baking sheets, spaced well apart to allow room for spreading.</p>
<p>4. Bake at 180C (375F) for 12 minutes until golden brown. Once removed from oven, leaqve on baking sheets for 1 minute, then carefully transfer to wire rack to cool.</p>
